Esteemed Performer Pat Finn, a versatile actor, Recognized For Appearances in The Middle and Friends, Has Died at Age 60.
US performer Finn, who appeared in popular television series such as Friends, "Seinfeld" and The Middle, has passed away at 60 years old.
The skilled improv artist died at home in LA recently having undergone cancer treatment from 2022 onward, according to media reports.
"He never met a stranger - only friends he didn't know yet," his family stated in a statement.
They added that he had "lived his life fully - with zest and passion".
An Extensive TV Career
His debut TV appearance was on a show starring George Wendt in 1995, where he played the titular character's brother.
He was also seen in a recurring role on Murphy Brown from 1995 to 1997.
He appeared as a party host named Joe Mayo in Seinfeld in 1998, playing a host known to delegate tedious tasks to his guests.
During the late 1990s and early 2000s, he appeared as a guest star on a variety of hit series, like:
- The King of Queens
- "Friends"
- That '70s Show
- House, M.D.
Finn was perhaps best known for his portrayal of Bill Norwood in The Middle, appearing throughout eight series from 2011 to 2018.
His film credits are "It's Complicated" and "Santa Paws 2".
Off-Screen Life
Away from his acting parts, Finn was an improv performer and also taught at the University of Colorado, where he was a faculty member.
He was a member of a six-member improv team known as Beer Shark Mice.
"Pat guided, supported, and advised many learners over the years and it's nearly impossible to find a person anyplace who has a bad thing to say about him," his relatives stated.
In a tribute, peer actor Richard Kind said there was "no kinder, gentler, funnier, down to earth person you could encounter".
"Consistently upbeat, assisting others to improve and be funnier. A great dad, a great guy," Kind wrote publicly.
Pat Finn is remembered by his wife Donna, three children, and his mother, father, and brothers/sisters.
