Former Doctor Accused of Sexual Assault Charges Involving Thirty-Eight Individuals in His Care
Prosecutors have stated that a ex- physician stands accused of committing sexual assaults involving 38 individuals who were under his care.
Details of the Serious Charges
The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham is accused of dozens of acts of sexual assault – comprising some against minors under the age of thirteen – between 2017 and 2021.
A deputy chief prosecutor said, “Legal teams have diligently worked to assist a detailed and complex investigation, carefully reviewing the available evidence to establish that there is sufficient evidence to proceed to trial and that it is in the public interest.”
Scope of the Police Inquiry
The charges follow what investigators described as a “complex investigation” into reported assaults at two hospitals: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and a facility in Dudley.
Spencer is scheduled to appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on 20 January.

- 15 counts of assault.
- 17 counts of assault by penetration.
