Iran Reports Strike on US Base in Bahrain, During Regional Counterattacks.
Tehran reports attacking a American military facility in Manama, as the country executed operations throughout the Middle East in retaliation for a "massive" and continuing assault targeting the nation by the United States and Israeli forces.
Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an zone in the area of the headquarters of the American Fifth Fleet in Bahrain's capital, Manama. The full scale of any damage is unclear and the American officials has remained silent.
Regional Interceptions
In other parts of the Middle East, the UAE, the State of Qatar and Kuwait - which all house American military installations - stated they have engaged and destroyed incoming projectiles in their air space.
In the Qatari capital, Qatar's defence ministry said it had successfully engaged several missiles seemingly aimed at the al-Udeid air base, the biggest US military installation in the region.
Operation "Truthful Promise 4"
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard stated it was striking US bases and assets as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in response for the offensive on the Islamic Republic carried out by the US and Israel on Saturday.
That preceding assault - executed at around 06:15 GMT - has so far targeted sites associated with the Iranian leadership, with US President Donald Trump encouraging the people of Iran to revolt against the government.
Regional Fallout
In the State of Israel, sirens were heard nationwide after the Israeli military stated it had detected an barrage of missiles from Iran.
The Ministry of Defence of the United Arab Emirates announced that the country has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"Emirati air defenses engaged the projectiles with high efficiency and successfully intercepted a several projectiles," the statement continued.
It said debris landed in a neighborhood in Abu Dhabi, causing some property damage and fatalities.
The United States Air Force is stationed at the Al Dhafra base, south of the Emirati capital, along with the UAE Air Force.
