Netflix Chooses Perfect Star for Bentham in One Piece Season 3
The Secret Organization is geared up to make a major impact in the next installment of Netflix’s show of One Piece, although the true confrontation won’t take place until the third season, and a adored, audience-beloved member has just been cast.
The streaming service revealed Tuesday that Cole Escola is now part of the One Piece cast for the third season and will embody Bon Clay. This character can use their power to transform into an exact copy of anyone they’ve made contact with with their main hand. Escola, who is non-binary and prefers they/them pronouns, will play a version of that role reimagined as non-binary, instead of as a drag artist, in the real-life adaptation, unlike the initial comic and anime.
The new cast member is joined by several other new cast members who will portray the group to the screen, featuring chief Sir Crocodile, played by the well-known actor, Sophia Anne Caruso as a key member, and Sendhil Ramamurthy, who also joins the lineup as the monarch of the desert kingdom.
Though the role is a major member of Baroque Works, the character won’t make their debut One Piece the third season. Considering the second season set to cover the Little Garden arc, this signals a notable change in the placement of the character’s debut, one that could indicate additional alterations to the story’s structure.
The actor’s combination of precise humor and profound feeling makes them a ideal selection for the part. In addition to their recent voice performance in the animated coming-of-age film Boys Go to Jupiter, they received high praise and numerous honors for creating and performing in the hit comedy play Oh Mary!, highlighting the range they’ll bring to one of One Piece’s widely praised roles.
The platform’s adapted One Piece show is scheduled to come back for its season two on March 10, 2026.
