Outrage as Beloved South African DJ Killed in the Heart of Johannesburg.
A popular South African radio and club DJ has been shot dead in the metropolis of Johannesburg, sending shockwaves across a nation battling persistent crime.
Warrick Stock, widely recognized as DJ Warras, was shot and killed in the central business district on a Tuesday afternoon.
Officials stated the forty-year-old entertainer was approached by a trio of assailants, one of whom opened fire on him before fleeing on foot.
The purpose behind the incident remains unclear and no one has been arrested have been made, according to authorities.
The Fatal Incident
Authorities said that Stock was targeted as he was exiting a building near the Carlton Centre.
He had been present for hours at the property supervising the setup of safety equipment, which had been reportedly taken over by squatters, according to reports.
"Authorities believe the victim was confronted by three unidentified men after he parked his car, and they opened fire at him before fleeing the scene on foot," an official report said.
Security camera video reportedly depicted a suspect with dreadlocked hair and dressed in what looked like a guard's attire opening fire on Stock before fleeing.
The DJ attempted to flee after he was shot but succumbed to his injuries on the opposite side of the road.
It was further revealed that Stock had an unused firearm and it was not a robbery during the attack.
Key evidence, like bullet casings, were found at the location.

Officials are asking eyewitnesses who may have have information to assist with the investigation.
"We know they walked a long distance after the shooting, and police have been following their trail to determine their whereabouts," added an official.

His sister, Nicole Stock, expressed the relatives are devastated to process his death.
"I am devastated. I cannot express the pain," she stated.
"We know he was a champion for numerous individuals. He addressed issues courageously about issues not many people were willing to tackle. This is a tremendous loss."
She requested the public to refrain from sharing explicit content from the incident, noting this was an extremely painful time, especially for Stock's children.
