President Donald Trump announced on the weekend that he has asked the loved ones of a National Guard member fatally shot last week to visit the executive mansion.

He mentioned that he conversed with her parents and they were “deeply grieving”.

US army specialist Sarah Beckstrom, twenty years old, was lost her life in a violent incident on Wednesday in DC.

Her comrade, Andrew Wolfe, 24, continues receiving treatment in serious condition.

The commander-in-chief stated he’s talked about a visit to the White House for the families of both individuals of the West Virginia Guard.

“I told them: ‘When you’re ready, because that’s a hard experience, arrive at the White House. We’re going to honor Sarah,” Trump informed the press. “And similarly with him, recover or not.”

Attendees gathered over the past few days at Webster County high school in West Virginia to remember Beckstrom.

Both the soldiers had been fulfilling duties with the military unit as part of the president’s federal initiative to aid policing efforts in the capital.

“Sarah was the individual that instructors desired. She carried herself with inner fortitude, a bright grin and a optimistic attitude that encouraged people around her,” Hankins, the leader of Beckstrom’s former high school, told the media. “She was sweet, considerate and always willing to assist people.”

Judicial Steps and Policy Revisions

Authorities have indicted a twenty-nine-year-old Afghan national with a charge of first-degree murder and two counts of assault with intent to kill while carrying a weapon.

The tragedy caused the Trump administration to halt asylum applications and temporarily stop granting entry permits to owners of passports from Afghanistan.

Condition of Andrew Wolfe

Wolfe, a resident of the city, began his service in early 2019 and is a 2019 graduate of Musselman High, according to the news agency.

He continues to receive treatment and is “fighting for his life”, West Virginia leader Patrick Morrisey stated on a news program.

The state’s top lawyer Pam Bondi stated on the program that she planned to visit his relatives.

Beckstrom, from Summersville, graduated from her high school in 2023 and began her service not long after, working as a law enforcement officer with excellence, per the military.

“She had a lot of kindness and she absolutely had courage,” Morrisey addressed the audience at the vigil. “Though her time ended too soon, she has created a legacy that’s going to last forever.”
