Star Denies Anti-Vaxxer Views Following Voicing Controversial Coronavirus Feature

The acclaimed actor has given his narration to a feature-length documentary that challenges the efficacy of immunizations and praises former health official RFK Jr.

The Documentary's Contentious Origins

Titled "Plague of Corruption," the project is inspired by a well-known publication written by a controversial scientist, who gained notoriety during the pandemic for claims that the virus was linked to a problematic version of the flu vaccine.

The publication's writing partner, Kent Heckenlively, has also written books with controversial figure the Infowars host. He recently posted hailing Neeson's participation in the documentary.

A Strong Statement

The team of Neeson have provided a statement pushing back against claims that he subscribes to anti-immunization beliefs.

"Many acknowledge that misconduct might be present within the pharmaceutical industry, but that cannot be conflated with opposition to vaccines," the response states. "Liam has never been, and is not, against vaccines. His extensive work with the UN children's agency highlights his consistent support for public-health initiatives."

The statement noted that the actor was not involved in crafting the documentary's editorial content and that concerns about its claims ought to go to the producers.

Major Claims In the Documentary

According to the documentary, the script read by Neeson makes several controversial points:

  • It states that pro-immunization voices have insisted on "blind obedience" to public institutions.
  • It posits that "science has become highly politicized."
  • Robert F Kennedy Jr is shown saying, "The big problem with vaccines is that they simply are not properly vetted."
  • The film further attacks stay-at-home orders, arguing they caused mental anguish that led to the loss of thousands of lives.
  • Concerning the immunizations, it references a view that they were "rushed to market" and seen as "hazardous tests."

Previous Context and Recent Disputes

The documentary also references a historical film about clinical trials on children, which was subsequently the subject of a correction by the corporation for unbalanced reporting.

Last month, Kennedy directed the Centers for Disease Control to alter its longstanding position that there is no link between vaccines and autism spectrum disorder. This assertion is also referenced in the film, even with a recent study from the World Health Organisation confirming no evidence has been found.

A Past Position of Endorsement

Contrasting the film's tone, Neeson has in the past voiced strong support for vaccines in his position as a charity ambassador.

Previously, he called vaccines as "an extraordinary achievement," adding that "The discourse about vaccines in recent years has lost sight of how much positive impact they have done... It is perhaps one of the biggest shared accomplishments in human history."

The documentary ends with Neeson's script proclaiming, "This is not the conclusion of our story. It is the start of a new chapter."
